If you understand Swedish, I really really want you to read this post: http://www.kurvigheter.se/klara/2010/02/24/gastblogg-steelneck-pratar-om-installsamhet/
It is long. But it’s worth it.

It is long. But it’s worth it.
I found use for my hacking skills today.
Supreme Commander is an old goodie we used to play a couple of years ago. I tried running it on Win 7. It worked like a charm… until it had used up 1,5 Gigs of memory that is, then it crasched like a drunk driver.
So, I hacked my Supreme Commander.exe to be able to use more memory. So far it works fine, and it has passed the point where it usually crasches.
If you want to hack your own Supreme Commander.exe in an easy way you can download masm32 and use editbin on it with the commandline option /LARGEADDRESSAWARE. This makes Supreme Commander support larger addresses than 2GB.
HOWEVER, if you are sitting on Windows XP you have to make sure the OS supports it as well.
In boot.ini check this out:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS=”Microsoft Windows XP Professional” /fastdetect
Change this to:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS=”Microsoft Windows XP Professional” /fastdetect /3GB
If you are Swedish, read this: http://blog.mmn-o.se/2010/01/19/polisen-raidade-mitt-kontor/
Basically what happened is that Mikael got raided by the police without a proper reason for suspicion of anything illegal. The stated reason was “Much traffic on an IP, probably a VPN tunnel” which is in no way, even remotely fucking imaginable, a reason for doing a police raid.
This smells like someone did not like the new political party that is gathering force. We will see if they actually find anything, which I doubt, but the whole thing smells. Very fitting that they do this just as our election campaign is starting up.
[Edit:]
Mikael himself thinks anyone who suspects this could be for political purposes is stupid. I guess I am stupid then, but I suspect he may be a bit bit too naive in this regard.
I have a nasty cold, or maybe an influensa. Not sure, and I don’t really care.
But I am past the worst part now, and is slowly getting better. Cheers!
Well, religion. As I have said before, I’m against it. I’m not against the people practicing it per se, I rather see them as victims of an institution spreading lies and brainwashing people.
Why I am pointing this out is because I have been getting criticism of being racist because I have argued against Islam. Newsflash, it’s a religion, not a race. I’m not a fan of Christianity either but I still have friends who are religious though. Which should point out that I’m not hateful against religious people. As little as I would be hateful against people with cancer. Though in this case, it’s a cancer of the mind.
A trend today is that religion is getting more and more power worldwide, and now even strives for installing blasphemy laws in various countrys. Meaning, if they manage to pass these laws, we can no longer argue against religion without risking being criminal.
I am being accused of being intolerant of religion. Okay, that is an interesting approach. What do you think religion is to other people? To me? Intolerant? Nooooo, surely you must be joking. Well, of course I am intolerant against such blatant lies that have so many horrible consequences. Do you know what else I am intolerant against? I’m intolerant against racism, sexism, violence, war, lies, corruption, etc. In other words, everything that religion promotes.
This man here put it quite well, please check him out:
If I were not bitter before I am now. I will never trust again.
Merry Christmas.
I have encountered something called “eating according to bloodgroup” a couple of times.
I admit I have not dived into this subject very much but my initial intuition says that this is bullshit. Pseudoscience often makes claims based on studies done on very few individuals (< 100) or some other vague misinterpretation or down right manipulation of statistics.
I fail to see how bloodgroup would have this dramatic effect on our health depending on what we eat. I think evolution would have sorted a thing like that out millions of years ago.
In short, unless you hand me rock hard evidence, this is yet another myth. Just like the one about us needing to drink much much more water than our own bodies tells us we need by getting thirsty.
It’s time to choose the candidates for the Pirate Party in the election 2010!
As the first candidate I have selected Johanna Julén. Which is one of the most intelligent people I know. I think she will do very well indeed.
The second candidate is Fredrik Holmbom. I want him there because I want the northern parts of Sweden represented as well, plus I know him well and know he is a good person.
As the third candidate I have chosen Gun Svensson. I think she is the oldest member of the Pirate Party as of now so she has a unique perspective and a unique experience that we very well might need.
As for the rest of the list I have chosen a mix of people with skills that I think we need, to make a group of people complementing each other. In other words, I have not chosen 19 programmers or 19 students or whatever. And yes, Rick is one of those 19, of course
.
As a side note, I am going to write this blog in english from now on. It seems I have readers in other countries (well, as much as they could read, but they wanted to anyway
) so I apologize for the somewhat unflexible language, It has been a long time since I expressed myself in english in any regular manner so it needs a bit of brushing up I’m afraid.
.
As another side note. Here is some sales statistics of the Swedish musicindustry. The green represents live shows, the yellow represents various collectionsocieties such as STIM and so on, and the orange represent CD and DVD royalties. As we can see, the music industry makes more money than ever and the record companies are waning away. Good riddance.
